Best of the Beast 2020 Death Metal

Admittedly, I once again took my time for my annual highlight lists. One reason for this certainly is that there were a hell of a lot of releases in 2020, after initial hesitation and various release postponements. Despite, or perhaps because of, the pandemic and the restrictions that come with it. Many artists use the time to write new songs and bring them to the people as quickly as possible – sometimes simply to survive financially. This led to a comparatively very high proportion of EPs, singles and demos in 2020.

So this year I don’t just include albums in my annual lists, but also EPs and demos. And I think I’ll keep it that way in the future. Unfortunately I have to pass on adding additional writing about every release this time. So let’s let the music speak for itself.
